United Nations aid for solid waste management in Sri Lanka

In Sri Lanka the UN is currently funding a project to create a 2-ton
composting plant. Great news to see initiatives in this field!

However it seems like there is a great potential for more in this
community; currently only 10% of the waste stream is going to compost.
Our research shows that up to 50% of waste in many developing
countries is compostable.
